Shadow Ridge, Palo Verde, Desert Oasis and Bishop Gorman are all contenders for the Class 5A flag football state championship this season.

Desert Oasis held off a late charge from reigning Class 5A baseball state champion Basic to clinch a spot in next week’s state tournament in Reno.
Following the death of teammate Ashari Hughes, the Desert Oasis flag football team has honored her by putting together a dominant season.
