The Coronado boys soccer team blanked Palo Verde to win the Class 5A state championship Saturday at Carson City after losing in the Southern League final.

Palo Verde jumped out to a three-goal lead, then held off a rally from top-seeded Coronado in the Class 5A Southern League championship game.
Green Valley upset top-seeded and league champion Basic behind three touchdowns from wide receiver Ben Byington in a 5A Division II Southern League semifinal.
Bishop Gorman rolled to a home win over Coronado to finish the regular season 10-0 and earn the No. 1 seed in the Class 5A Division I playoffs.
