Arizona catcher Austin Wells, who played at Bishop Gorman High School, was selected by the New York Yankees with the 28th pick of the first round in Wednesday’s MLB draft.
Wednesday was declared “Brandon Marshall Day” by the city of North Las Vegas in honor of the linebacker who played at Cimarron-Memorial High School and later at UNR and in the NFL.
Gilbert, a senior committed verbally to UNLV, announced that he’s moving from Las Vegas and Durango to St. Louis, where he’ll attend national power Vashon High School.
