Silverado capped off its second straight perfect season with its second consecutive Class 4A state title Monday at Allegiant Stadium, defeating Shadow Ridge again.

Host Faith Lutheran forced five turnovers, including a 36-yard fumble return touchdown by Taimani McKenzie in the third quarter, and came away with a 37-6 victory.
Sure enough, league play in the Class 4A Sunset Region and Class 3A starts this week, the true indicator that summer is done. Even Bishop Gorman is taking a break from irking out-of-state fanbases to play a Southwest League contest against Bonanza. (I didn’t include that game in my picks, but, spoiler alert, Gorman is going to win.)
