Centennial closed the second quarter on a 26-2 run and sprinted past Silverado 60-22 in the quarterfinals of the Legacy Tip-Off Classic.
Legacy coach Jack Tarango sat all five of his starters midway through the third quarter, and the reserves carried the host Longhorns the rest of the way in a 53-42 victory over Canyon View (Utah) to open the Legacy Tip-Off Classic.

Green Valley’s Omar Rubio was tops among local runners and his performance helped lift the Gators to a second-place team finish in the Class 4A state cross country meet at Craig Ranch Regional Park.
Centennial junior Alexis Gourrier won the Sunset regional cross country championship and helped the Bulldogs to the team title.
