Samantha Pochop tossed a five-hitter and struck out 12 on Thursday to lead Rancho’s softball team to a 1-0 win over visiting Coronado in a matchup of the top two teams in the Division I Sunrise League.
Skylar Gorrell tossed a four-hitter and struck out six Tuesday as Las Vegas High’s softball team handed visiting Rancho its first loss in Division I Sunrise League play, 4-3.

Winning pitcher Skylar Gorrell was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, and the Las Vegas High softball team rallied from a 5-2 sixth-inning deficit to earn an 11-7 win at Green Valley on Monday.
Alyssa Spencer went 2-for-3 with two RBIs Saturday to help the Legacy softball team to a 6-4 win over Faith Lutheran in the championship game of the Colorado River Invitational in Needles, California.
Kali Tomlinson”s grand slam capped a five-run top of the fourth inning Friday as the Palo Verde softball team edged Bryan (Texas) 6-5 in four innings in the Tournament of Champions in Bullhead City, Arizona.
