The Bishop Gorman softball team defeated Silverado on Saturday at the College of Southern Nevada to defend its Class 4A state championship.
Defending Class 4A state champion Bishop Gorman crushed Silverado to advance to the 4A state title game, and Cimarron-Memorial and Tech stayed alive.
Bishop Gorman clinched a No. 1 seed in the Class 4A softball state playoffs next week after defeating Tech behind a shutout from pitcher Jordyn Fray.
