The 17th pedestrian bridge stretching over a portion of Las Vegas Boulevard opened Monday morning to foot traffic.
The six-month pilot program originally set to go into effect Jan. 1 was bumped up a couple weeks to work out any issues that may arise ahead of a pair of visitor heavy dates.
Beginning Monday, Las Vegas Boulevard from Spring Mountain Road to Sahara Avenue will be restricted to one or two lanes in each direction from 12:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on weekdays.
Originally slated to open in July, then delayed until November, the pedestrian bridge linking Park MGM and the Showcase Mall could open as early as Dec. 23.
