Bonds, who also ran on the winning 400 relay team and finished third in the 100, helped Centennial build a big lead heading into Saturday’s events.
Edmond ran the 100 meters in 11.84 seconds on Saturday at Desert Oasis to secure the Moutain Region championship — and an automatic bid to the Class 4A state meet next week. Teammate Aniya Smith finished second in 12.11, and Centennial’s Quincy Bonds ran 12.16 for third.

Isabella Iacob and Kenna Scott each won two events on Thursday to lead Spring Valley’s girls track team to a 74-58 home victory over Sierra Vista.
Olivia Smith won three individual events on Tuesday to lead Bishop Gorman’s girls track team to victory in a three-team home meet.
Mojave’s Alanna Gilbert won three individual events as the host Rattlers nipped Virgin Valley to claim a three team meet.
