Aces guard Chelsea Gray scored 19 points Tuesday to help the Aces claim the first Commissioner’s Cup in franchise history.
WNBA
Chelsea Gray scored 14 points and had a season-high 12 assists to lead the Aces to their first win at Michelob Ultra Arena since June 19.
The Aces, coming off a 3-0 road trip, trailed by 17 points after the first quarter and never could catch the Atlanta Dream on Tuesday night at Michelob Ultra Arena.
The Aces set an WNBA record for points in the first half, but were most encouraged by their improved defensive performance in the third quarter, which has plagued them all season.
The Aces could only watch helplessly as New York Liberty star guard Sabrina Ionescu hit seven 3-pointers and had 31 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists Wednesday night.
