WINNEMUCCA — Green Valley’s quest to win a fourth straight state wrestling title got off to a solid start on the first day of the Division I tournament Friday.

Dan Diaz recorded a pin at 113 pounds in 1 minute, 34 seconds on Wednesday to help host Spring Valley’s wrestling team to a 54-22 win over Sierra Vista.

Bonanza’s wrestling team won four matches by pin on Tuesday to top Eldorado in a match at Rancho High.

Randle Crowley posted a first-period pin at 138 pounds on Wednesday to lead Coronado’s wrestling team to a 39-36 road victory over Rancho.
