The Nye County Sheriff’s Office is assisting the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in an investigation into several burros found shot in the Central Area Command.

On January 22nd, 2018, a bank robbery occurred near the 8700 block of West Sahara Avenue. The suspect entered the bank, approached a teller and demanded money from the drawer. The teller complied and the suspect left the business on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect was described as a black male adult, in his 30’s, 5’8″-5’9″ tall, weighing 150-175 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black Adidas hat, a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and black framed Prescription
glasses.

Supreme Court strikes down law banning sports betting outside Nevada
 
Supreme Court strikes down law banning sports betting outside Nevada

The Supreme Court has overturned a federal ban on sports gambling. States other than Nevada will be allowed to provide bookmaking and betting at casinos and race tracks. Justice Samuel Alito said Congress can regulate sports gambling directly, but if it elects not to do so, “each State is free to act on its own.” The vote was 6-3. One research firm estimates that 32 states will likely offer sports betting within five years.
