Raiders quarterback Derek Carr says he has been more than willing to help newcomer Marcus Mariota get settled in his team’s offense.
Last year, Raiders wide receiver Hunter Renfrow entered his rookie year of training camp with the lights and camera of Hard Knocks in his face. This year, the coronavirus has turned the world upside down. Renfrow says despite all the bad things going on, he’s looking up towards all the positives.
On Tuesday, the Las Vegas Review-Journal was given an updated tour of Allegiant Stadium. Seen on the tour, on the northeastern corner of the roof, was a tiny section of what eventually will be a 7-acre translucent plastic polymer roof.
As Allegiant Stadium readies to become home to the Raiders, it’s no doubt that the 65,000-seat arena will be a centerpiece to the city of Las Vegas. A day after it was announced that he was selected to play in this season’s Pro Bowl, the Raiders have place offensive tackle Trent Brown on injury reserve with a pectoral injury. The team also announced that they are hopeful rookie wide receiver Hunter Renfrow will suit up on Sunday against the Chargers.
The $2 billion Allegiant Stadium remains on time and on budget, even though completion of the cable net to support the translucent polymer roof won’t be completed until mid-December.
The reason: Other projects within the 65,000-seat stadium were completed well ahead of their projected completion dates.
Raiders head coach Jon Gruden knew once he took over the team that there needed to be changes made regarding player contracts and the teams salary cap. The Raiders have since then brought in a ton of young talented players to play alongside veterans that will put all of them in a position to shine.
