After an early morning robbery at a taco shop and an hours-long barricade, Las Vegas police took one suspected robber into custody at a home in the east valley. Police responded just after 5 a.m. Sunday to reports of a robbery at Viva El Taco, AT 30 N. Lamb Blvd. in the central valley, Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Brian Boxler said.

Las Vegas police are investigating after an officer fired a shot at a suspect fleeing a traffic stop early Friday morning.
The officer tried to pull over a black Dodge Durango with license plates that belonged to a different vehicle. The driver took off northbound on Lamb Boulevard and at one point crossed into the southbound lanes.
A man got out of the car and fled on foot. During the chase, the officer saw something in the man’s hand and fired a single shot, police said.
The man wasn’t injured and was later taken into custody. Police could not confirm if the man had a weapon when he was arrested.
This is the 9th officer involved shooting of 2018. Per police policy, the identity of the officer will be released after 48 hours.

A math teacher at West Career and Technical Academy in Las Vegas has been arrested on child sex charges. Renee Rine, 36, was booked Friday into the Clark County Detention Center. Las Vegas police are investigating a deadly shooting Monday morning in central Las Vegas. A man was found dead after 3 a.m. outside the Rancho Discount Mall at 2901 W. Washington Ave. The man had been shot once. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have blocked off the parking lot in front of the store while detectives investigate. At 5 a.m., the man’s body was still on scene, laying on the walkway near a shopping cart and a pile of blankets.
