McCarran tied for first with Orlando International Airport in in a J.D. Power North America Airport Satisfaction Study. McCarran is the busier of the two with 48.5 million passengers in 2017 compared with 44.6 million for Orlando, Florida’s busiest airport. McCarran has regular commercial air service from 39 carriers; Orlando has 40. In 2017, McCarran was ranked third among North America’s largest airports behind Orlando and Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County International Airport.

The Pinball Hall of Fame plans to move to a newly built facility on the south Strip. The Las Vegas arcade has been based out of a building near UNLV since 2009. Some carry-on bags at McCarran airport will soon be scanned with the same type of technology used by hospitals for medical images. CT imaging is already used to screen checked baggage. The scanners will be deployed to McCarran and 14 other U.S. airports in the next few months, allowing the TSA to see items more clearly. Each machine costs at least $350,000. Over time, the TSA said it expects processing to be faster. The technology may someday allow travelers to keep liquids and laptops in their bags.

This is a common medium for the painting’s artist, Ryan Almighty, who uses human blood (in this instance, his own) and human remains to create his artwork. Bagans, host of Travel Channel’s paranormal investigation series “Ghost Adventurers,” received the painting at his Las Vegas attraction on Saturday morning. He is having it framed, and plans to display the work beginning Wednesday, in a museum room dedicated to convicted killers.

The Adult Superstore on Main Street has closed its doors for good after 45 years. The shop, which offered a multitude of adult toys, novelty items and movies, opened in 1973. Four other locations remain open. A month-long strike in June could cost MGM Resorts and Caesars as much as $300 million in cash flow, according to a union report In 1984, a union strike fund helped support workers during the period they picketed.

The Las Vegas Fire Department responded to reports of a fire around 11:20 Tuesday night at 4516 Mark Ave. A fire started in the back yard and spread up the back side of the house and into the second floor. Flames and thick, dark smoke billowed from the home. No one inside was injured, but a firefighter did suffer a cut to his hand and was hospitalized. The cause of the fire is not yet known

A head-on collision Friday morning sent four people to the hospital with injuries police say were not life threatening. The crash occurred when the driver of a Honda Accord attempted to turn left onto Flamingo from Swenson Street. Police were not sure if either driver was impaired.
