Grand Jury Indicts Constable for theft

A Clark County grand jury indicted Henderson Constable Earl Mitchell. A Las Vegas Review-Journal investigation prompted the criminal probe. The newspaper found Mitchell wrote himself thousands in checks, took out cash at ATMs and traveled on county funds. He faces four felony counts of theft and a county of public misconduct. Mitchell and his attorney could not be reached for comment.

Henderson Strong evokes strong future

City officials have big plans for Henderson. They envision a suburban utopia filled with plenty of open spaces, parks, community gardens and access to all modes of transportation. The city is projected to have 100,000 new residents in the next 20 years. Henderson is the second-largest city in Nevada, with an estimated population of more than 300,000.
