After putting on a show-stopping performance and earning a UFC contract at the Dana White Contender Series, Sean O’Malley says he’s not feeling the pressure of making his official promotional debut.
At a scrum ahead of UFC 218 fight week, UFC president Dana White gave updates on what could be next for several fighters and discussed what could happen with Nate Diaz, Georges St-Pierre, Rose Namajunas and more.
UFC president Dana White spoke about his lightweight champion Conor McGregor’s alleged bar fight, his discipline for his recent behavior at a Bellator MMA event and why he’s not forcing him to defend his belt or vacate it.
Conor McGregor may be back in a UFC cage soon and Dana White is entering the boxing business. White said he will meet with UFC matchmakers in Las Vegas this week to book the main event for UFC 219, which will take place at T-Mobile Arena on Dec. 30. He imposed a deadline of Friday on himself to make a decision. White said at he is “100 percent” getting into boxing and is in the process of acquiring his license. “We all know boxing is broken. The question is, how do you fix it? If you think about all the people involved in boxing, not a lot of people make a whole lot of money,” White said.
