Featherweight competitor Grant Dawson submitted Adrian Diaz in the sixth week of Dana White’s Contender Series to earn a contract with the UFC.
UFC middleweight Charles Byrd submitted Randall Wallace in the sixth week of Dana White’s Contender Series to earn a contract with the promotion. It was Byrd’s second time appearing on the series.
UFC president Dana White confirmed to reporters following his Contender Series event that Tony Ferguson will face Las Vegas-based fighter Kevin Lee at UFC 216 on Oct. 7 for the interim UFC lightweight championship.
