Motorcyclist dies after crashing into pole near Las Vegas Strip
A 24-year-old Las Vegas man died Saturday morning after crashing his motorcycle into a chain linked fence near the Strip.
The crash happened just after 10:35 a.m. on Dean Martin Drive, just south of West Tropicana Avenue.
Evidence from the scene showed the victim was speeding northbound on Dean Martin Drive where the road curves, police said in a statement.
When the victim’s motorcycle struck the fence, he was thrown from the motorcycle and struck a pole. He was taken to the University Medical Center’s trauma unit with life-threatening injuries, Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Nate Chio said. He died at the hospital.
This is the 88th traffic-related fatality investigated by Metro this year.
