Coroner IDs man who died after southeast Las Vegas shooting

The Clark County coroner has identified the man who died after being shot at an extended-stay hotel in southeast Las Vegas.

Nicholas Joseph Diamond, 29, was found unresponsive about 4:30 a.m. Oct. 1 in the driver’s seat of a newer model Toyota Camry, behind the leasing office of The Suites at 4855 Boulder Highway, near East Flamingo Road. Police said he had been shot at least three times.

Diamond was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center where he died.

Police said the motive behind the shooting was unclear, but it may be gang-related.
