Valley temperatures moving closer to normal

After Monday evening’s cooling, temperatures should be “a little closer to normal” through Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

Both Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s highs are forecast for 70 degrees with lows of 56 and 50 respectively, Weather service meteorologist Barry Pierce said. But as the week ends, temperatures will climb.

“We’re looking at highs Thursday through Sunday to be anywhere between 75 and 80 degrees,” Pierce said, adding that morning lows are expected to vary from the low- to mid-50s.

Valley gusts were expected to last through 8 a.m. Tuesday, when winds would slow to about 15 to 20 mph before dying down that night.

Skies should be mostly clear this week, and no precipitation is expected, Pierce said.
