Sunrise Mountain gets first win

Freshman Christopher Moore’s 10-yard touchdown run with 1:48 to play lifted Sunrise Mountain to a 39-36 win over Coronado’s junior varsity Wednesday at Sunrise Mountain.
The Miners, who won for the first time in their brief history, recovered a fumble with 3:35 left to set up the winning touchdown.
First-year Sunrise Mountain had been outscored 186-13 in its first three games.
Cody Trapp returned an interception 45 yards for a touchdown and caught a 32-yard TD pass from Moore.
Moore added a 2-yard TD run for Sunrise Mountain, which trailed 22-13 at halftime.
Tyree Mays added TD runs of 10 and 18 yards for Sunrise Mountain.
The Miners forced five turnovers, including four interceptions.
