No injuries in central Las Vegas apartment fire

Updated December 30, 2019 - 7:49 pm

No injuries were reported following a fire Monday afternoon at an apartment complex in the central Las Vegas Valley, according to the Clark County Fire Department.

The blaze at the Gloria Park Villas apartments, 3625 S. Decatur Blvd., was reported just before 3:40 p.m.

All residents of a 16-unit building were safely evacuated, and as of about 5:40 p.m., firefighters had extinguished the blaze, according to Fire Chief Greg Cassell.

The fire, believed to have started from a first-floor fireplace, affected two units, including the one above the fireplace.

It wasn’t immediately clear how many people were displaced, the department said.

The American Red Cross is offering assistance to those displaced, Cassell said.
