Red Rock Canyon hiker who died identified

A man who died while hiking at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area Saturday has been identified by the Clark County Coroner's office.

Brian Tracy, a 25-year-old from Spokane, Washington, died at approximately 11:30 a.m.. According to an initial statement from Metro Lt. Jeff Goodwin Saturday, Tracy fell 80 to 100 feet and was initially seriously injured. The exact cause and manner of his death has not yet been released by the office of the Clark County Coroner.

Metro's Search and Rescue unit could not reach the location of the fall before the time of death due to weather conditions, Goodwin said Saturday. Information on the exact location where Tracy fell was not immediately available, but it was near the Oak Creek Canyon trail, Goodwin said.
