The graduation rates for UNLV's athletes improved over the previous year.
UNLV's Graduation Success Rate was 78 percent for the 2014-15 academic year, and its Federal Graduation Rate was 62 percent for a four-year period. Both figures were two percentage points higher than the previous year.
The 62-percent FGR was 21 points higher than UNLV's general student population.
In 2014-15, 50 percent of UNLV athletes achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or greater, and 179 were named to the Dean's List. The minimun for the Dean's List is a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher.
More than 80 UNLV athletes earned their degrees in 2014-15.
"Everyone here is committed to both the academic and athletic success of our student-athletes and it's wonderful to see that success demonstrated in these numbers," Rebels athletic director Tina Kunzer-Murphy said in a statement. "Nothing makes us prouder than graduating our student-athletes and we continue to do so with increasing frequency here at UNLV behind the great work put in by our academic support team."
