Henderson names new parks and public works director

A longtime city employee will oversee Henderson's parks, street maintenance and city facilities.

Robert Herr was named senior director of public works, parks and recreation, the city announced Tuesday.

He replaces Robert Murnane, who was named city manager in July. As part of his new job, Murnane picked Herr to take his old job.

The public works and parks departments were merged last year.

Herr, a former traffic engineer, has been a city employee since 2003 and assistant director of public works since 2005. He was serving as interim director until being appointed last week.
