Navy unveils custom painted helmets for Army game

The annual Army-Navy game is scheduled for Dec. 12 in Philadelphia and the Midshipmen just gave us a good reason to watch the game on CBS.

Navy (9-2), which flirted with a New Year's Six Bowl, will roll out something dramatically different for the Military Bowl: Hand-painted helmets.

That's right. Navy, which has worked with Under Armour on some stylish uniforms and accessories this season, unveiled the helmets Monday. Each position group will wear a different style of helmet adorned with a military warship. The helmets, also designed by Under Amour, include a submarine motif, a battleship and an aircraft carrier helmet, among others.

Officials from Navy, which goes for its 14th consecutive victory in the series, said this is the first time a team will wear custom helmets for each position.
