Baby found in August died of natural causes, coroner says

A baby boy who was found dead in a southeast valley apartment in August died of natural causes, the Clark County coroner's office said Wednesday.

Seventeen-month-old Kamari Stephens was found about 11:30 a.m. Aug. 22 in an apartment complex at 6275 Boulder Highway, near Russell Road, police said.

The coroner's office ruled Kamari's death natural as a result of dilated cardiomyopathy, a disease of the heart muscle that makes it difficult to pump blood and deliver it to the rest of the body.
