Man in critical condition after stabbing at east Las Vegas family event

One man was injured and another was taken into custody Friday morning after a stabbing in the eastern valley, Las Vegas police said.

Police said they were called at about 2:55 a.m. to the 5200 block of Charleston Boulevard, near Nellis Boulevard, where a man had been stabbed during a family party.

The two men were arguing when one pulled out two knives, police said. The other man was able to gain control of one of the knives but was cut in the neck, police said.

The wounded man ran away, but was caught by apartment security, police said. He was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition.

No additional information was available Friday morning.
