One dead in southeast valley shooting

A male is dead after a shooting in a southeast valley apartment complex late Monday night, Metro confirmed.

The shooting happened at 9:05 p.m. at 4555 Karen Avenue, within Meadow Vista Apartments and just southeast of Lamb Boulevard and Sahara Avenue, Metro Lt. David Gordon said.

The male who was shot was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he later died, Gordon said. Police did not confirm the male's age as of 11:15 p.m.

It was unclear what led up to the shooting. Homicide detectives were still investigating Monday before midnight.

Police did not yet have a shooter in custody.
