Clark County coroner IDs man killed in motorcycle crash

A man who died in a North Las Vegas motorcycle crash was identified Friday by the Clark County coroner’s office.

Eric James Howell, 19, of Las Vegas, was the passenger on a motorcycle that collided with a four-door sedan about 8 p.m. Thursday on Tropical Parkway and Sea Princess Street, east of Decatur Boulevard.

Officers found Howell and the motorcycle driver in the road roadway. Howell was pronounced dead at the scene.

The motorcycle driver, also a 19-year-old man, was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition.

The 45-year-old driver of the car was not hurt and stayed at the scene. There were no passengers in the car.

North Las Vegas police suspect the motorcycle driver was speeding at the time of the crash. It is unknown if alcohol was a factor.
