Kitten rescued from car wheel well during gridlock traffic

A kitten is lucky to be alive after being found on an Oakland freeway Monday afternoon during rush-hour traffic.

According to the LA Times, a motorist spotted the kitten on the center divide and tried to get it, but it jumped into the wheel well of a stopped car.

Service patrol workers stepped in and rescued the kitten, and then the witness offered to adopt it.
