Coroner identifies woman found dead in wash east of Strip

The Clark County coroner’s office has identified the woman found dead in a wash Friday morning.

Medical personnel and police arrived just before 7 a.m. at the scene near Mandalay Bay Road and Giles Street, east of the Strip. They found Sharon Nomura, 55.

Police said it was unclear how long Nomura had been in the wash, but the coroner ruled the cause of her death as a drowning.
