Sunday night water heater fire displaces six

Six adults were displaced Sunday night by a water heater fire in a home near Charleston Boulevard and Arville Street.

The Las Vegas Fire Department responded just before 8:30 p.m. to a house fire in the 4300 block of Cory Place. The fire started in the kitchen and extended to the attic, said fire spokesman Tim Szymanski.

Crews had the fire knocked down within 20 minutes. One person was transported to University Medical Center for smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
