North Las Vegas home suffers major fire damage

A Monday afternoon house blaze in North Las Vegas caused $300,000 in damages and left nine residents displaced.

North Las Vegas firefighters responded to the two-story home at 3714 Blake Canyon Drive, near Gowan Road and Allen Lane, just before 12:30 p.m.

The three adults and six children inside the residence escaped the house without injury before firefighters arrived, fire officials said.

Firefighters had the fire under control in minutes, and were able to contain most of the damage to the first floor.

The cause of the fire appeared to be electrical and is believed to be accidental, according to fire investigators.

The American Red Cross will be assisting the displaced family.
