Man dies after being stabbed in North Las Vegas

An altercation at a North Las Vegas home on Monday ended with a man dying after being stabbed, marking the city’s first homicide of 2014.

At about 12:50 p.m., North Las Vegas police responded to the apartment in the 2400 block of Webster Street, near Las Vegas Boulevard and Carey Avenue, after receiving a call about a 54-year-old man reportedly dead in his home. Officers found the body on the floor of the apartment with what appeared to be multiple stab wounds.

Evidence suggests there may have been a struggle in the man’s home prior to his death, police said. Detectives are following leads in the case, but no arrests had been made Monday evening.

The Clark County coroner’s office will release the man’s identity and cause of death.

Anyone with additional information regarding this case is urged to call North Las Vegas police at 633-9111. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
