Day-long standoff ends in officer-involved shooting

Las Vegas police shot a woman who had engaged in a nearly 24-hour standoff with SWAT units late Tuesday night.

She was transported to an area hospital, said police who did not release her condition. Two officers suffered minor injuries that didn’t require medical transport.

The woman barricaded herself in a home near Mountain Vista Street and Tropicana Avenue about 11 p.m. Monday, police said. The two children in the home were uninjured.
