Arizona firefighters injured while testing equipment

KINGMAN, Ariz.- Three firefighters were rushed to Kingman Regional Medical Center in Arizona about noon Thursday after they were injured while testing equipment.

Northern Arizona Consolidated Fire District Chief Pat Moore said crews were pressure-testing a fire hose when the accident occurred at the main fire station on Northern Avenue in Kingman.

The three firefighters on the ground were loading a hose back onto an engine when a second 5-inch hose that was to be pressure tested was loaded with water. The hose zigzagged across the ground, knocking two firefighters to the ground and the third up against the engine.

One firemen was knocked unconscious, Moore said. But all three were conscious when they reached the hospital for treatment.

Their conditions weren't available Thursday afternoon.
