HEALTH Q&A: Traveling while pregnant

Q Is it safe to travel while I'm pregnant?

A Traveling can be a part of your pregnancy plans, especially when living in the desert during the hot season! Here are some general guidelines for a safe trip. Make sure you drink plenty of water. A good rule of thumb for flying is to drink two glasses of water for every hour in the air. On longer trips, it's very important that you use the bathroom regularly, and that you stand up and walk around every one to two hours. This helps avoid cramping and muscle fatigue, and it reduces the risk of developing a blood clot in your legs. Be safe and enjoy.
