Wildlife department to host introductory shooting class

The Nevada Department of Wildlife will host an introductory rifle shooting class from 7 to 10 p.m. on Dec. 7 at the Clark County Shooting Range Education Center. Participants will learn the basics of firearm safety as well as shooting fundamentals and range etiquette.

The free course will include a brief classroom discussion and demonstration as well as a live-fire exercise on the Education Center's 100-yard range, where students will have the opportunity to load and shoot .22 caliber rifles. Students will also learn how to properly clean and store firearms.

Reservations are required, and participants younger than 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. For more information or to register, call Martin Olson at (702) 486-5127, extension 3501.
