Beastie Boy winning cancer fight

Mix Master Mike -- the greatest DJ in the world and a Las Vegas resident -- has good news regarding his fellow Beastie Boy Adam "MCA" Yauch's, fight against cancer of the parotid gland.

"Adam's doing good. He's just on his way back, pretty much," says Mix Master (Mike Schwartz).

"He's strong, everything's good, and we're just waiting on him to do anything -- waiting to go on the road or anything to make the world happy."

On Saturday, you can see Mix Master perform with drummer Travis Barker at Club Nikki at Tropicana hotel-casino. They just opened for the Nicki Minaj-Lil Wayne tour.

The duo hooked up after Barker's partner, DJ AM, overdosed in 2009. Mix Master was good friends with DJ AM, so he doesn't take the partnership lightly.

"As soon as we got together, it jelled," he says. "It's kind of like a battle! ... We keep each other on our toes."

Mix Master performed a secret show at Nikki Beach a few weeks ago and loved it.

"The whole place -- you can party inside or outside. It's dope."

Also Saturday, he starts a new show on Xfm.co.uk, mixing "anything from dubstep to rock to hip-hop. There's no format."

He's promoting his DJ App, Wheelz of Steel, plus headphones he helped develop: Skullcandy The Mix Master.

And he and his wife of 12 years, Dianne Copeland, still live in Vegas and L.A. She runs Copeland Entertainment.com, booking 35 star DJs.

"She's amazing," Mix Master, 41, says. "I think after 10 years of marriage, the government should reward you with something -- like 10 years of free mortgage."
