Water Cooler

Here are a few things in news, entertainment and pop culture that we've been talking about lately.

■ Las Vegas is aflutter over the royal wedding. Steve Wynn and Andrea Hissom's. Who'd you think we were talking about?

■ Osama bin Laden is dead. No joke. We just love the way the words roll off our tongue.

■ Legislation that would ban Nevadans from texting and using hand-held cell phones while driving advances in the Legislature. We are so gonna post an angry note on Facebook on our way home tonight.

■ Biologists have released into the desert south of Las Vegas 36 desert tortoises with transmitters attached to their shells. As long as they're not driving (see above).

■ Clark County high school students rally on the Strip to protest cuts in public education funding. Just think of it as an AP class in government and economics.
