William Lyon to open Tularosa

William Lyon Homes is placing the finishing designer touches on its newest model homes in preparation for next weekend's grand opening celebration at Tularosa.

When the builder unlocks the doors of its sales office and models at 10 a.m. March 19, the neighborhood will be the only actively selling all-single-story neighborhood within the Mountain's Edge master-planned community in the southwestern valley.

"Tularosa will be a wonderful neighborhood for buyers who are looking for both single-story living and the benefits of living within a master-planned community," sales agent Julia Giordani said.

"The neighborhood will offer a great combination of single-story homes for buyers who prefer single-story living without stairs, oversized home sites with nice big yards, and the conveniences of living near the amenities of the Mountain's Edge community at a very affordable price."

During next weekend's grand opening celebration, home shoppers will have the opportunity to be among the first to tour the four designer-appointed model homes as well as enjoy Cold Stone ice cream and raffle giveaways.

"All four of our models are beautifully appointed homes. Each home is highlighted by a great open design and the kitchens are gorgeous with granite countertops, island workstations with breakfast bars and beech wood cabinetry," Giordani said.

"These homes also offer a generous list of included features such as dual-sink vanities in both the master and hall baths, abundant designer light fixtures and other distinctive interior trim."

Two of the models -- the 1,747-square-foot Plan One and the 1,514-square-foot Plan Four -- offer three bedrooms while the 1,976-square-foot Plan Two and the 2,102-square-foot Plan Three feature three bedrooms plus a den. Each home features a great room and also includes two baths and a two-car garage. Prices start from the $160,000s.

The neighborhood's first phase of six home sites will be released next weekend.

"Our first phase will include oversized lots with a lot of room for outdoor living. Some of our first-phase home sites will offer a great location along a paseo and walking path," Giordani said.

The residents of Tularosa will have access to the amenities of the 3,500-acre Mountain's Edge master-planned community. In addition to schools and planned retail space, the community has set aside more than 500 acres for open space, parks and a trail system highlighted by desert landscaping.

Among the community's recreational amenities is the Mountain's Edge Exploration Peak Park, which features an Old West-themed playground, a splash-and-spray area and picnic areas.

There are also walking trails, an amphitheatre and a combination of a replicated early pioneer and Native American village and archeological dig site.

To visit, take the southern Las Vegas Beltway to Rainbow Boulevard and head south. Turn right on Blue Diamond Road and then left on Buffalo Drive.

Proceed south to Erie Avenue, turn left and follow signs to the neighborhood. For additional information about Tularosa, visit www.lyonhomes.com or call 355-5067.

William Lyon Homes is constructing seven additional neighborhoods in Southern Nevada where homes measure from 1,335 to 3,068 square feet.

Other neighborhoods include West Park Courtyards and West Park Villas in Summerlin, The Crossings in the northwestern valley, Fields in the Aliante master-planned community, The Commons in North Las Vegas, The Cottages at Centennial Ranch, and Series I in the Mountain Falls master-planned community in Pahrump.
