HIKES

Red Rock Canyon: On Monday, a moderate, 3- to 4-mile hike along Pine Creek to the base of Juniper Canyon. On Tuesday, a strenuous, 3-mile hike with scrambling at Red Cap. On Thursday, a 3-mile star hike at first creek. Bring a flashlight (515-5367).

Around The Bend Friends: This group of people over 50, interested in hiking and related social activities, plans a three-to four-hour moderate hike each Saturday starting at 8:30 a.m. To learn more about the group and the meeting place for the hike, contact 228-0773, or the club's website: www.aroundthebendfriends.com.

OTHER PROGRAMS

Red Rock Canyon: On Saturday, a program for 3-8 year olds on animal habitats. On March 6, a table-top presentation at the visitor center on "ugly" animals (515-5367).

Archaeo-Nevada Society along with the Bureau of Land Management invites volunteers to help with Red Rock Conservation projects. Visit www.archaeonevada.org.
