Here are a few things in news, sports, entertainment and pop culture that we've been talking about lately.

■ 84-year-old Hugh Hefner u25B6 announces his engagement to 24-year-old Playmate Crystal Harris. Ain't love -- and modern pharmaceutical science -- grand?

■ Snow and winds in Philadelphia prompt the NFL to move last Sunday's Eagles-Vikings game to Tuesday night. And, somewhere, an iciclelike tear slides down Vince Lombardi's cheek.

■ The Transportation Security Administration alerts air carriers to potential, but nonspecific, threats involving passengers' thermoses and beverage containers. Sounds like somebody's been watching too much "Get Smart" again.

■ Marvel comics says a member of the Fantastic Four will be killed in the comic's January issue. Of course, "death" is about as permanent in the comics as "indigestion" is in real life.
