Pallets on fire near buildings in Henderson

HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) -- A pallet fire in Henderson is sending a plume of smoke across Las Vegas, with flames visible more than 13 miles away.

Las Vegas Fire & Rescue spokesman Tim Szymanski says county firefighters were called to the two-alarm fire Tuesday evening on a small street just west of Boulder Highway.

Flames and smoke from the fire can be seen from downtown Las Vegas.

Szymanski says no buildings are currently on fire.

But satellite images of the area show pallets stacked near several buildings.

A spokesman with the Clark County Fire Department has not immediately returned a call seeking comment from The Associated Press.
