Man arrested in sexual assault case

A 75-year-old self-proclaimed prophet was arrested Friday on charges including sexual assault and lewdness with a child under the age of 14, according to Las Vegas police.

Benito Catello, who runs a church called "The Ministry" out of his home, near Owens Avenue and Mount Hood Street, faces 29 felony charges. Catello is being held at the Clark County Detention Center where bail was set at $295,000.

Investigators are asking those who have been victimized by Catello or know someone who was victimized to contact the department's Crimes Against Youth and Family Bureau at 828-3421.

Police supplied an outdated photo of Catello and said that in the past he might not have had a beard. He is described as 5-foot-5, 155 pounds with gray hair and blue eyes.
