Metro asks for help finding man they thought was barricaded in house

Las Vegas police are asking for the public’s help to locate a man they thought had been barricaded in a residence near Nellis Air Force Base Thursday morning.

He is 30-year-old Henry Lee Hall, a “dangerous” fugitive wanted in California in connection with a homicide investigation, police say.

The standoff, which began about 10 p.m. Wednesday, lasted nearly 13 hours in the 6300 block of East High Sierra Avenue, near Carey Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard. The intersection of Mt. Hood Street and Bluehurst Avenue was closed during that time.

After receiving a tip about Hall’s whereabouts, police attempted to apprehend him, but said he locked himself in the residence with a group of people.

The others were evacuated and are uninjured, police say.

“We received credible information he was inside the residence,” Metro spokesman Michael Rodriguez said, but when SWAT entered and searched the home, he was not inside.

It is unclear when Hall escaped, Rodriguez said. Police believe he is in the immediate area on foot.

Officers do not know if Hall is armed, Metro Lt. Sean Toman said.

He is described as being five-foot-seven and 130 pounds.
