Henderson man runs over, kills 9-year-old son
A 9-year-old boy is dead after his father accidentally ran him over when they were cleaning their garage in Henderson on Saturday afternoon, police said.
The man tossed an item to the boy before backing out of the garage in the family truck, city spokeswoman Michelle French said. He didn’t realize that the boy had missed the catch and gone underneath the truck to retrieve it. The man thought the boy had gotten out of the way, French said.
First responders were called about 4 p.m. to the 1100 block of Midori Street, near Horizon Ridge Parkway and East Paradise Hills Drive, she said.
Neighbors performed CPR on the boy but he died later at an area hospital, French said.
