County commissioners voted unanimously Tuesday to approve a design for the Forever One Memorial, which will honor the dozens who died and hundreds who were injured at the Route 91 Harvest festival.

The 1 October Memorial Committee is expected to recommend a memorial design to the Clark County Board of Commissioners.
The memorial will remember the 60 people killed in the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history. It will be built on the corner of East Reno Avenue and Giles Street.
The Vegas Strong Resiliency Center received national recognition for their work following the mass shooting in 2017.
One gambler told the FBI that Stephen Paddock, who opened fire on concertgoers on Oct. 1, 2017, killing 60, was “very upset at the way casinos were treating him.”
The five finalists chosen to make the final 1 October memorial introduced themselves to the committee Wednesday.
Several events are scheduled for Oct. 1 to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the deadliest shooting in U.S. history.
The Vegas Strong Resiliency Center was recognized Friday by the U.S. attorney general’s office for its work with victims of the Oct. 1, 2017, mass shooting on the Strip.
